Colorado’s Deion Sanders Eyes Five More Trademarks as Buffs Prepare for USC

Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is one of the best in the sports world when it comes to brand marketing.

Four games into the 2023 college football season, Sanders has placed the Buffaloes program at the epicenter of the sport while also building his personal profile by filing trademarks of his favorite catchphrases in the process. As Colorado prepares for a stiff Pac-12 battle with No. 8 USC on Saturday, the attorney for Pro Football Hall of Famer has filed paperwork in hopes of securing a second group of trademarks on his behalf.

Jessany Garrett, Sanders’s attorney for Prime Time Enterprises, Inc., has filed to register five trademarks, according to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database. They include:

  • “AIN’T NOBODY CARE”
  • “F AROUND AND FIND OUT”
  • “WE KEEP RECEIPTS”
  • “PITBULL IN PUMPS”
  • “WORKING OR TWERKING”

Sanders seeks to trademark the latest phrases for clothing items, such as sleepwear, blazers, sweatsuits and outerwear. The latest collection of catchphrases comes after Sanders filed paperwork for four other trademarks for the phrases “COACH PRIME,” “PRIME EFFECT,” “IT’S PERSONAL” and “DADDY BUCK,” according to a report from trademark attorney Josh Gerben.

The Buffaloes (3-1) have become must-see TV despite a lopsided defeat at Oregon on Saturday. That game generated 10.3 million viewers on ABC. With the Trojans coming up on Saturday, it would not be surprising if Sanders helps to generate another big audience—and perhaps a third batch of filings for new trademarks.
