Virginia’s Mascot Had Brutal Reaction After Giving Up Blocked Punt TD vs. Louisville

The Virginia Cavaliers football team hasn’t had a great year by any means.

On Thursday night during Virginia’s game vs. No. 11 Louisville, the Cavaliers mascot reacted to a play that perfectly summed up the team’s season thus far.

In the second quarter, Virginia’s punter Daniel Sparks was gearing up in the end zone to punt the ball away for the third time (with two Virginia fumbles in between). However, the punt was blocked by Louisville’s D’Angelo Hutchinson. The ball flew up into the air, and the Cardinals receiver Jimmy Calloway caught the ball in the end zone to score a touchdown.

While this happened in just a few seconds, the Cavaliers mascot could be seen in the background of the broadcast reacting immediately to the punt touchdown. He put his hands on his head and looked in disbelief, even with the head cover on.

With this punt touchdown, the Cardinals went up 14–0 before halftime. Virginia entered the game with a 2-7 record on the year.
