Alabama Scores on Fourth-And-Forever to Beat Auburn and Save Playoff Hopes

The 88th edition of the Iron Bowl served up one of the most dramatic endings in the storied rivalry on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Faced with fourth-and-goal from the Auburn 31-yard line and trailing the Tigers 24–20 with only 42 seconds remaining, Alabama’s Jalen Milroe dropped back to pass.

Milroe found wideout Isaiah Bond in the back corner of the end zone to give the No. 8 Crimson Tide the lead, 27–24. After a quick defensive stand ending with a final-play interception, the Crimson Tide secured the improbable win.

Following the victory, Alabama (11–1; 8–0 in SEC) will face No. 1 Georgia (11–0; 8–0 in SEC), which is currently playing Georgia Tech, in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

With the win, the Crimson Tide, who were listed at No. 8 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, kept alive their playoff hopes.
