Kansas State QB Will Howard Enters the Transfer Portal and Fans Have Ideas For His Next Stop

Kansas State's Will Howard became the latest big name to enter the transfer portal on Monday. The Wildcats quarterback, who led the team to the Big 12 championship last season and is the school leader in career touchdown passes, will likely be a target for some of the top schools in the nation, given his resume.

College football fans immediately began speculating on which schools that could be.

Ohio State fans, clearly still smarting from the loss to Michigan that saw QB Kyle McCord struggle mightily, are immediately throwing their hat in the ring for Howard. They weren't the only ones.

Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke’s fall from a potential first-round NFL Draft pick before the 2022 season to a player getting benched for the second straight year in 2023 has Hurricanes fans flirting with the idea of Howard under center. Likewise for Nebraska fans, who watched as the middling QB combination of Jeff Sims and Heinrich Haarberg led them to five wins in 2023.

But the best reaction of all came from this Notre Dame fan.

“Notre Dame and we will have another 9-3 season with a good college QB,” said @DevyCooked on X (formerly Twitter).

This fan is still clearly coping with the fact that the Fighting Irish failed to elevate to championship heights with big-name transfer Sam Hartman at QB.

It will certainly be interesting to see where Howard lands.
