ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ Announces Overseas Trip for 2024 Debut
College GameDay’s final broadcast of the regular season occurred Saturday ahead of the Army-Navy game in Foxborough, Mass., but the show is already looking toward 2024. In fact, ESPN’s signature college football pregame program will make history when it opens the 2024 season.
ESPN announced that College GameDay will broadcast live from Dublin, Ireland, ahead of the Florida State-Georgia Tech game there on Aug. 24, 2024, making it the first time that the show will be broadcast from a location outside of the United States. It will mark the third consecutive year that the college football season opens in Dublin.
Florida State will be playing in Dublin for the first time in its history, but Georgia Tech played there in 2016, defeating Boston College, 17–14.
If the Seminoles defeat Georgia in this year’s Orange Bowl, they will enter next year’s season opener on a 20-game winning streak. The Yellow Jackets, meanwhile, were 6–6 this season and will play UCF at the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa.
For Week Zero of the 2023 season, GameDay broadcast from the ESPN studios in Bristol, Conn., but that will not be the case next year.
