High School Recruit’s Incredible Mullet Captivates Fans During Early Signing Period

Wednesday’s opening of college football’s early signing period flooded social media with announcements of where high school players are officially signing to continue their careers at the sport’s next level.

Buford High School in Georgia attracted major attention as early signing began with quarterback Dylan Raiola officially signing with Nebraska, flipping his prior commitment to Georgia. Five-star defensive back KJ Bolden also made news by flipping a commitment, choosing to stay in-state with the Bulldogs instead of going to Florida State

However, some fans of distinct haircuts and unconventional styles chose to highlight another Wolves prospect on early national signing day. Offensive lineman Dale Greene announced he would next play football at Western Carolina

That commitment may not have shaken up the college football world. But his glorious mullet drew attention across social media, thanks to a post by ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren.

Only an offensive lineman would sport such an impressive mane, right? College football fans and recruiting diehards responded in kind, lauding the high school athlete’s bold choice in hairstyle. Here is a sampling:

It’s almost a shame that a helmet has to cover that hair. But if the 6'4", 285-pound Greene keeps that mullet, fans of the Catamounts and Southern Conference football will be able to identify him from that rug sticking out of the back.
