Pitt surprised the college basketball world Saturday night in an epic upset victory over No. 7 Duke in dramatic fashion that left the internet with its next iconic sports photo.
After the Panthers’ 80–76 win, forward Blake Hinson took to the scorer’s table to rub some salt in the wound. The senior, who was a perfect 7-for-7 from three-point range, jumped atop the table and started celebrating in front of Cameron Indoor Stadium’s famed student section. Naturally, the fans didn’t take too kindly to this, and they collectively gave the star of the day the middle finger.
The ACC Network broadcast caught the NSFW gestures, leading to a perfect screenshot capturing the moment when all the Cameron Crazies were utterly furious with Hinson and his celebration.
Hinson led all scorers with 24 points and added eight rebounds. It was Pitt’s first win at Cameron Indoor Stadium since 1979, and the internet was in complete disbelief.
The Panthers (11–7, 2–5 ACC) were 12 1/2-point underdogs. The loss dropped the Blue Devils to 13–4 overall and 4–2 in ACC play.
