LSU Running Back Trey Holly Arrested, Charged with Attempted Murder, per Report

LSU running back Trey Holly has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting in Farmerville, La., that left two people injured, Union County sheriff Dusty Gates told The Advocate in Baton Rouge on Thursday.

“We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish,” the university said in a statement. “This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”

Per Gates, Holly is facing one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of illegal use of a weapon. The investigation remains ongoing with additional arrests anticipated.

Holly appeared in 11 games for the Tigers in 2023 and was one of four scholarship running backs set to be on LSU’s roster next season.

A four-star recruit, Holly played for Union Parish High School in Farmerville, which is located in north-central Louisiana.
