College Hoops Fans Crushed ESPN’s Jim Boeheim for ‘Miserable’ Rant During NC State-Louisville Game

The longtime Syracuse men’s basketball coach didn’t like seeing one player having some fun.

Former Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim has been calling games this season for ESPN, and this week he’s doing it in a familiar environment—the men’s ACC tournament, which is being held in Washington, D.C.

Boeheim angered a lot of fans during Tuesday night’s Louisville-NC State first-round game when he took a shot at a Wolfpack player for having some fun while celebrating a teammate’s big play. 

Boeheim, a Hall of Famer who coached at Syracuse for 47 years, went off on a bizarre rant about NC State’s recent history after seeing this moment during the second half of the game, which the Wolfpack won, 94–85.

Maybe because they enjoy playing a college sport. Maybe because they enjoy being in an ACC tournament, no matter where it’s played. Maybe because the guys came together through the noise and without their leading scorer.
