Caitlin Clark Ties NCAA Tournament Record with Nine Threes, Sends Iowa Back to Final Four

Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark tallied 41 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds and tied a NCAA tournament record with nine three-pointers as the No. 1 seed Hawkeyes defeated No. 3 LSU, 94-87, to advance to the Final Four.

With the game tied at 45 at halftime after a back-and-forth first half, Clark was determined to carry the Hawkeyes to a regional final victory. Clark made four of her nine three pointers in the third quarter, as Iowa ended the frame with a 24-13 advantage to pull away from LSU for good.

LSU's Flau'jae Johnson led the way with 23 points, while star forward Angel Reese scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in a losing effort.

Monday night's win for the Hawkeyes avenged a bitter national championship game loss at the hands of the Tigers last season, and cemented Clark's legacy as one of the best women's college basketball players of all-time.

With the win, Iowa is now in its second straight Final Four, with an opportunity to once again get back to a national championship game.

The Hawkeyes will face the winner of Monday night's tilt between No. 1 seed USC and No. 3 seed UConn in next weekend's national semifinal.
