A key cog in the Wisconsin Badgers' successful 2023-24 campaign is reportedly headed elsewhere.
Former Badgers guard Chucky Hepburn has committed to play for Louisville in 2025, according to a Thursday afternoon report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Hepburn, 21, averaged 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and three assists per game in three seasons with Wisconsin. The Omaha-raised guard was named to the Big Ten's All-Freshman team in 2022 for a 25–8 Badgers squad.
In 2023-24, Hepburn's scoring (9.2 points per game) dipped from his sophomore season (12.2 PPG) but he still made the conference's All-Defense and All-Tournament teams. Wisconsin qualified for the NCAA men's tournament as a No. 5seed, losing 72–61 to James Madison.
The Cardinals, on the other hand, are starting from square one under new coach Pat Kelsey. Louisville wrapped up miserable two-year stretch under coach Kenny Payne this past season, following up a 4–28 record in 2022-23 with an 8–24 record last season.
Kelsey has been active in the transfer portal so far this offseason, luring eight newcomers to the Bluegrass State.
Louisville started with zero scholarship players. Since, they've added eight transfers:
