Cincinnati Adds Commitment From UCF Transfer Center Moustapha Thiam

Arguably the best player Cincinnati's added so far.

CINCINNATI — UC added a major transfer talent this week in UCF center Moustapha Thiam. He is staying in the Big 12 after terrorizing the Bearcats last season. On3's Joe Tipton reported the commitment.

The 7-2, 235-pound freshman center averaged 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game this past campaign. He led the Big 12 in blocks with a 49.8% field goal percentage (29.1% from deep on 2.3 attempts per game).

The dynamic young rim protector has three years of eligibility left and could be the best five-man to play for Wes Miller at Cincinnati. Thiam posted 13 points, five rebounds, and two blocks against UC on 6-9 shooting in the Bearcats final game last season. 

He helps Cincinnati's spacing and lineup diversity as he tries to build a strong NBA Draft profile this fall. Thiam will almost assuredly be the starting five man next fall with Jalen Haynes, Tyler McKinley, and Halvine Dzellat slotting in with him as current frontcourt pieces.
