Georgia State formally introduced former Georgia running backs coach Dell Mcgee as their newest head coach late last week. From the looks of it, McGee's staff is already starting to take shape with fellow P5 talent.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported Monday that McGee is expected to hire Texas A&M offensive analyst Jim Chaney as offensive coordinator and Georgia Tech co-defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer as DC for the Panthers.

Prior to spending 2023 with the Yellow Jackets, Sherrer spent two seasons as an assistant with the New York Giants. Sherrer has also previously served as the defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator, in separate years, at Tennessee. He overlapped with McGee at Georgia in 2016 and 2017.

Chaney overlapped with McGee at Georgia from 2016 to 2018. Chaney was Georgia's OC and quarterbacks coach in that time. Chaney was then the OC at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020. He then switched to an analyst role, first with the New Orleans Saints in 2021 and then Georgia Tech in 2022.

Georgia State has not yet announced the hires.
