Clark Phillips is an SI All-American

Ohio State Buckeye Commitment Clark Phillips has been named to the inaugural SI All-American team.

Watch the video of Clark Phillips, and the evaluation becomes easy.

This future Ohio State Buckeye defensive back just makes plays.

From La Habra High School in Calif., Phillips does it in all three phases, as a gifted defensive back, big play wide receiver and dynamic return specialist.

The versatility shines a light on his overall athleticism, head-turning quickness and alpha mentality when it comes to his college position of cornerback.

More specifically, Phillips may be the best nickel prototype in the country when the entire skillset comes together. He’s physically developed at 5-10, 185 with a strong build, excels in space and has enough speed to win beyond the line of scrimmage.

Factor in literal wide receiver-like ball skills and very good leverage discipline, and he should contend for that key role in Columbus.

Phillips has the awareness to compete at the line of scrimmage and re-route opponents and he breaks on the ball as well as any DB in the nation.
