As SI senior writer Pat Forde reports Churchill Downs has stated that fans will be allowed to attend The Kentucky Derby which is scheduled for September 5th. As Forde points out, there are many college football programs attempting to limit travel in light of the coronavirus pandemic and not have fans in the stands for games. If The Kentucky Derby goes on as planned, it could be a viable metric to evaluate how allowing fans to attend events should be handled.
