The Hair Makes It Even Better

Iman Shumpert

You know Hot Clicks doesn't like to make a big deal about dunks, but even we were impressed with the put-back jam by Knicks guard Iman Shumpert last night. On a side note, Kevin Harlan was actually subdued on the call (for Kevin Harlan, that is), which was a disappointment.

"Thick Throughout"

Get your mind out of the gutters. All that headline is referencing is one of the notes on this very cool 1985 baseball scouting report on Bo Jackson.

Rock Bottom

You've probably seen the story by now about former Lions wide receiver Titus Young, who was arrested twice in a 15-hour span on Sunday. One of Young's alleged infractions was hopping a fence at a towing company so he could steal back his car. Sadly, video of this scene hasn't turned up yet, but Deadspin does have this great picture of Young sleeping in a cell phone store.

Hockey Talk With Phil Hughes

As longtime readers of Hot Clicks know, my NHL knowledge is not strong. In fact, I'm rooting for the Kings solely based on Dustin Penner taking a shot at Nickelback on Twitter. So, in order to better serve the hockey fans in Hot Clicks Nation, I've recruited Yankees pitcher Phil Hughes, a die-hard NHL fan, to regularly give us his thoughts throughout the playoffs. Hughes also wanted to have his version of the "Lovely Lady of the Day," so he's also going to share with us the "Phil's Pretty Lady of the Day" (whether they're a hockey fan or not). Here is today's entry by Hughes, who you can follow on Twitter for more hockey talk.

Thoughts on last night: I was a little surprised San Jose was able to finish off the sweep of Vancouver. The Sharks are emerging as a very dangerous team in a conference that was already stacked. ... Islanders forward John Tavares is filthy, as you can see by this goal. I wouldn't be surprised to see the New York-Pittsburgh series go the distance, especially with the way Penguins goalie Marc-André Fleury is playing. ... As for tonight's games, I like the Leafs and Blue Shirts to even up their respective series. Look for James van Riemsdyk of Toronto and Ryan Callahan of New York to step up big. My west coast bias also says the Ducks and Kings will take leads in their series, as well. ... Phil's Pretty Lady Of The Day is Toronto model Haley Tweddle.

Sports Video Of The Day

Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna lost a fly ball off the bat of Will Venable last night, but for a good reason: It was out of the park.
