David Letterman is Retiring: Here's the Time He Sent His Mom to Report on the Olympics

In honor of Late Show pioneer David Letterman announcing his retirement effective in 2015, we decided to seek out our favorite sports-related Late Show bit. It was a tough call given his two decades of excellence on CBS but after some consideration, we landed on the clip above (Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler just barely missed the cut). In 1994, Letterman sent his mother Dorothy to be a correspondent at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway. The result was an all-time classic Late Show bit and the revelation that Dave definitely got his sense of humor from his mother.
