Will Smith To Star In A Movie About NFL Concussions

Will Smith is in talks to star in an upcoming movie about the doctor who first discovered CTE in former NFL players and his crusade to inform the league of the dangers of concussions. Also on Extra Mustard: Mark Teixeira Has His Own Talk Show The movie will be based on "Game Brain'' a 2009 GQ article which followed Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith's character) as he tried to draw the league's attention to the data on the dangers of untreated concussions. Concussions have become a hot topic in Hollywood lately, with Variety reporting several other films about the brain injury are in development.

Parkes/MacDonald Productions are developing a project based on the book “League Of Denial: The NFL, Concussions And The Battle For Truth” and Isiah Washington is set to star in the indie drama “Game Time Decision,” both of which focus on the concussion issue.
