White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has a goal to sing the National Anthem before one of Chicago's home games.
The 27-year-old, currently at the tail-end of his first All-Star season, said he wants to master the English language and then perform for the crowd. But with only a few weeks left in the season, he had better plan on hitting the books hard if he wants to make good on his promise any time soon.
Who knows, even if White Sox fans have to wait until 2015 to experience the treat, they may be hearing their next (Cuban) American idol.
