Watch: Creighton freshman attempts hustle play, gets drenched with beer

Thursday November 20th, 2014

As a redshirt freshman, Creighton's Toby Hegner has a lot to learn about college basketball. He learned one lesson the hard way Wednesday night: It's not fun to spill beer all over yourself while playing.

In the first half of Creighton's game against Oklahoma, Hegner dove to try to save a ball from going out of bounds. He failed to do that, but succeeded at sliding into a courtside table and knocking a fan's beer off of it and onto his head.

Notice how the other two fans sitting at the table picked up their beers when they saw Hegner sliding toward them, ensuring theirs wouldn't meet the same fate as their friend's. Veteran moves by those two (big props, especially, to the guy on the right, the only one of the trio who was double fisting.)

The good news for Hegner: nothing that happens to him the rest of his career will probably be as embarrassing as what happened Wednesday.

And in other good news, Creighton came back from an 18-point deficit to upset the Sooners 65-63, with Hegner contributing 11 points.
