Heisman finalist and Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper revealed on Thursday during an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show that offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin tells jokes to which Alabama players can relate, whereas head coach Nick Saban tells jokes that are more for people his age.

The detail about Saban is probably surprising only in that it means the famously severe coach actually tells jokes. Given that Saban just turned 63, and spends most of his time around college students, many of his jokes likely come at the expense of these kids these days, with their fancy electronic gizmos and their complicated shoes.

This is Kiffin's first year with the Crimson Tide, and in the time he has had left over from telling jokes he has designed an Alabama offense that is averaging 37.1 points and 281 passing yards per game.

Cooper has recorded 115 receptions, totaling 1,656 yards and 14 touchdowns. Cooper's performance, as well as the efforts of Kiffin and Saban, led Alabama to a 12-1 record and an SEC Championship game victory over the Missouri Tigers, 42-13.

HAMILTON: Constant motion keeps Alabama's Amari Cooper one step ahead

The Crimson Tide finished the season ranked first in the College Football Playoff standings, and they will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1) in the Sugar Bowl, the opening round of this year's inaugural College Football Playoff, on New Year's Day at 8:30 pm EST.

With Kiffin's and Saban's ability to entertain different age groups, the game will likely be fun for the whole family.
