NFL Round-Up

The Packers overcame an Aaron Rodgers injury (and a Ndamukong Suh stomp) to hold off the Lions, 30-20. The win helped the Detroit bar owner who foolishly offered to pay for everyone if the Lions won ... Eric Decker had his best game as a Jet with 221 yards, one touchdown and one shot to the "baby maker" ... Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston set a new franchise record for sacks, which made his son very happy ... Colts kicker Adam Vinateiri missed out on a perfect season when his 46-yard-field goal attempt sailed wide left while Andrew Luck is still waiting for his high five ... Dez Bryant and Odell Beckham Jr.continue to be the NFL's most exciting receivers ... Lamar Miller set the all-time Dolphins record for longest run, but Mike Wallace's bizarre postgame non-interview was the story of the game ... J.J. Watt became the first player to record two 20-sack seasons ... Mike Tomlin looked ready to unload on Bengals safety Reggie Nelson (see photo above) for his hit on Le’Veon Bell ... Atlanta played like the sewage that nearly crept into its locker room in a 34-3 loss to Carolina ... Johnny Manziel capped off his horrendous rookie season by going MIA and earning the wrath of the Browns owner ... Lastly, a tribute to Jim Harbaugh and his many meltdowns. And speaking of Harbaugh, a Detroit newspaper ran a photo of the wrong Harbaugh on its front page.

College Round-Up

College Bowl season is underway and you should be following Andy Staples for all the action (and the occasional photo of pork and bacon pizza). My three favorite random items so far are Nebraska's Corey Cooper vomiting on the field during the Holiday Bowl, these Louisiana Tech fans attempting to dance and Jameis Winston getting his NFL trash talk in. I'm sure Richard Sherman won't remember this when you play next season. Bonus fourth item: Jay Bilas killing Louisiana's Chris Jones for this flop.

Mamba Army Goes to War

There have been many great Twitter fights in 2014 but the best occurred over the weekend when a Kobe Bryant fan drove 35 minutes to fight a Twitter user who bashed Bryant. The fight never actually happened but Kobe was impressed, noting "The Mamba Army don't f--- around." And he's right. A day after the fight, a diss track came out about the incident.

Lovely Lady of the Day

I spent a good chunk of the weekend watching reruns of Party Down and I can't believe that show didn't last longer. Watch it if you haven't already. Anyhow, Lizzy Caplan has come a long way since Mean Girls and earns today's LLOD honors (click here for full-size gallery).

Camel Racing With Robots

If you haven't kept up with the changes in camel racing, the New York Times has a great piece on how robots have replaced little kids in this ancient sport.

Rory Gets Trolled

Rory McIlroy was in Ireland for the holidays and decided to check out a rugby match. He did not expect to get trolled, Neil Diamond style, by the crowd.

Great Moments in Wheel of Fortune

I love posting bad game show moments but here's a good one.

Dog + GoPro = Awesome

Ever wonder what a dog does when his owner leaves the house? (H/T Mashable)
