Katy Perry comes out on animatronic lion for Super Bowl halftime show

Katy Perry came out on a golden animatronic lion to sing "Roar" as her first song during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show.

The NFL officially announced Perry as the Super Bowl XLIX performer in November. Her most recent album, "Prism," included tracks "Dark Horse," "Roar" and "Unconditionally," among other hits.

Perry has had nine No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her 2010 record "Teenage Dream" had five No. 1 tracks, tied for the most all-time with Michael Jackson's "Bad."
