Heat's Michael Beasley drank snake juice, ate lizard and horse in China

Thursday February 26th, 2015

It often feels like Michael Beasley's basketball journey has been strange enough. Somehow, things keep getting weirder.

After returning to the NBA from China on Thursday, beginning his third stint with the Miami Heat by signing a 10-day contract, Beasley told reporters about the more unusual aspects of his time with the Chinese Basketball Association's Shanghai Sharks.

Google turns up little in the realm of "snake juice," but reveals snake wine is apparently an alcoholic beverage made by soaking snakes—living ones—in a bottle of rice wine or grain alcohol. Horse and lizard are self-explanatory.
