Syracuse is the top-ranked team in college lacrosse, but the Orange faced a tough test on Sunday against No. 5 Virginia so they tried something tricky.

In the first quarter of Sunday's game, goalie Bobby Wardwell stopped a shot but the ball bounced into the stick of defenseman Brandon Mullins. Mullins appeared to give the ball back to Wardwell. But wait! No Virginia player realized Mullins kept the ball and went all the way down the field to dump it off to Kevin Rice for the finish.

The trick fooled everyone, including the camera man.

The hidden ball trick is fairly common in lacrosse, but rarely does it work over the entire length of the field.
