ESPN's Keith Olbermann stopped by David Letterman's show on Tuesday night to talk about his recent suspension after sparring with Penn State fans on Twitter.

Olbermann has been an outspoken critic of both the school and NCAA's handling of the Penn State scandal, and tells Letterman he assumed the tweet he responded to was about something else, but was actually about Penn State's philanthropic efforts.

The sportscaster goes on to say he now realizes that Twitter is "the first true sign that society is disintegrating," and avoids reading any tweets with his own name in them to prevent himself from entering any more unnecessary battles.
