Lionel Messi, Argentine soccer team take in Pacers-Wizards game

Thursday March 26th, 2015

How many times can it be said of a professional sporting event that arguably the more famous athletes internationally are the ones sitting in the stands?

That might've been the case Wednesday night, when Lionel Messi and the Argentine national soccer team took in the Pacers-Wizards game at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. The team's in town for a friendly against El Salvador on Saturday at FedEx Field, and there are certainly worse places to kill a few days than in D.C.

Messi also met 7'7" Gheorghe Muresan, one of the two tallest NBA players ever. Messi is 5'7".

Definitely an exciting moment for the Wizards, Pacers and the Argentine team. The fans, as expected, were also pretty pumped.

As if a late-March matchup of two teams in the Eastern Conference playoff picture wasn't enough, this game got an even greater boost.
