When he was still known as Ron Artest, Metta World Peace played basketball at St. John's. With the Johnnies looking for a new coach, Metta wants people to know he'd be interested in the job.

Metta World Peace signs to play in Italy

The odds of St. John's hiring World Peace, who has no previous coaching experience, are obviously quite slim. But it doesn't hurt to dream.

The Red Storm mutually agreed to part ways with Steve Lavin Friday and are reportedly eyeing former St. John's player Chris Mullin as a possible replacement, among others.

Perhaps World Peace can at least get an assistant's job.
