Jon Lester engages in grammar showdown on Twitter

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester showed off his grammar knowledge Tuesday afternoon on Twitter...sort of.
The exchange started with Lester's tweet about the Cubs' 7-6 Monday night win over the Reds, in which he allowed six runs and 10 hits in six innings.
Great team win last night! The bats really picked me up! No excuses here, I have to be better. I will be better. #SolerPower #LetsGo #NVRQT

Twitter user @ryanbowen10 responded by criticizing Lester.
@JLester34 your a bum and nothing without #RedSoxNation

Lester, who often responds to Twitter users both nice and nasty, generously corrected the tweet's grammar.
@ryanbowen10 Ryan, its "you are" or "you're" say it with me...

• Jon Lester thanked everyone who wished him well on Twitter
As @ryanbowen10 stewed, another user spotted some irony in Lester's correction.
@JLester34 @ryanbowen10 "it's" not "its" :)

Lester could only admit defeat.

@ryanbowen10, meanwhile, continued to be a gentleman about the ordeal.
