The top locations are not particularly surprising with California, New York and Illinois as the only states to produce over 200 NBA players since 1950, and California holding the lead down with 358 ballers. Shockingly, the data shows no NBA player has ever come from Vermont

The numbers flip around a bit once the data is filtered solely for Hall of Famer's birthplaces, with New York taking a commanding lead at 22, California dropping to second with 11, and Pennsylvania sneaking into third with 10 names enshrined in Springfield, Mass., Louisiana also has a strong showing in the Hall of Fame category with eight inductees.
