Stephen Curry has been hitting miraculous shots all year, including some during warmups, so it should be no surprise that he hit the shot of the season Thursday night in New Orleans. Curry hit a three-pointer over two Pelicans with fewer than three seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime, where the Warriors emerged with a comeback win to extend their series lead to 3-0. The shot had fellow NBA players talking on Twitter and Hornets coach Monty Williams wondering why his players didn't foul as instructed. Despite the amazing shot, I still give game MVP honors to this Hornets fan for his unibrow chest hair, with these 78-year-old Warriors fans a close second.
In Chicago, Derrick Rose was in full 2011 mode as he scored 34 points in the Bulls' double-overtime victory over the Bucks. As for Boston-Cleveland, LeBron James' block of an Evan Turner dunk (and James' own highlight-reel windmill dunk) ended any chances of a Celtics victory as the Cavs rolled to a 3-0 series lead. I think this t-shirt adequately sums up the feelings of all Boston fans while this dancer speaks for the Cavs faithful.
Baseball's Angriest Player
I'm not sure why Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura is so upset. He's 23 with playoff experience, can throw over 100 miles per hour and plays for the best team in the American League. Nonetheless, his anger was on display Thursday night when he dropped an F-bomb in the direction of White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton after Eaton hit a comebacker to the mound in the seventh inning. The exchange led to a bench-clearing brawl. This is the third bench-clearing brawl in as many starts for Ventura, who was tossed from his last start after hitting Brett Lawrie and drawing the ire of the Athletics. He nearly came to blows with Mike Trout during a tense Angels-Royals game on April 12.
