Seahawks DE Michael Bennett: Pete Carroll is like Willy Wonka

NFL coaches usually prefer themselves to be likened to generals and other great leaders of men, but Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett has a different comparison for Pete Carroll.

Bennett told Seattle's 750 The Game that his coach more closely resembled a beloved, whimsical chocolatier.

I would say [Carroll]’s like playing for Willy Wonka, He’s crazy. He wants to be young. He’s just one of those guys who’s always upbeat and just wants to have a good time because he lets you be yourself.”

It seems the Roald Dahl classic was very popular in the Bennett household growing up, as Michael's brother, Bears tight end Martellus Bennett, compared then head coach Marc Trestman to the Oompa Loompa leading candy maker in 2013.
