Pittsburgh Pirates star Andrew McCutchen made the day of two young fans by giving them his batting gloves after Saturday’s 5–2 win over the Padres in San Diego.

You see enough kind-hearted gestures by athletes to fans, and you could be forgiven for getting a little jaded.

That’s how it is in today’s 24-hour news cycle, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t moments like that worth sharing.

Andrew McCutchen reminded us of that Saturday night, when he gave his batting gloves to two young fans after the Pirates’ 5–2 win over the Padres in San Diego. The fans made the trek for the game and cheered McCutchen the whole game.

Again, it was a simple gesture by McCutchen. But the look on the fans’ faces makes it absolutely worthwhile. Just look at the kid who freaks out after getting the gloves and starts shouting, “I love you, man! I love you!”
