Catching a foul ball and handing it off to the nearest child is a time honored tradition among baseball fans who are not jerks, and on Tuesday night the practice paid off for an Athletics fan.

After grabbing a foul ball in the upper deck and briefly celebrating, the fan follows protocol and hands the ball off to a young girl sitting nearby who is excited to grab the souvenir.

Moments later, serendipity struck and the girl grabbed a foul ball of her own, so she did the only reasonable thing and returned the favor by giving the ball to her new ballpark friend.
