The Arena Football League can be a dangerous place for mascots.

Just ask Shox the Fox, the mascot of the Spokane Shock. During Friday's game against the Las Vegas Outlaws, Shox for some reason found himself strolling through the end zone as the ball was snapped.

What happened next was an unfortunate sequence of events, since of course the throw went straight to the corner of the end zone Shox was in and the poor fox was obliviously tackled by a Shock player trying to make the catch.

Fortunately for Spokane, Shox was called for pass interference so it got to replay the down. Unfortunately for Spokane, Las Vegas still won, 62–56.

Soccer fans have amazing Twitter debate about how old a player is

Maybe I need to watch more arena football...
