Game of Thrones left Angels' P C.J. Wilson 'drained' before start

C.J. Wilson was looking to kill some time before his start against the Athletics on Saturday so he decided to catch up on one of his favorite shows, Game of Thrones, with his wife.

Unfortunately for Wilson, the season's second-to-last episode was not exactly a happy affair, with many beloved characters being put in dangerous positions, and leaving the Angels starter feeling a little unsettled on the mound, according to The Washington Post.

“I watched the last episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ today and I was just really drained,” he said after somehow managing to scatter two hits in a seven-inning, 1-0 victory. “It was just up and down. Was it going to turn out well for Daenerys Targaryen? My wife and I are big fans of her. Part of my routine is to spend time with the wife and the dogs. Usually, it relaxes me, but today it was like, ‘Oh, man.'”

Wilson overcame the troubles in Westeros in time to lead his team to victory, pitching seven shutout innings and striking out eight in a 1-0 win over AL West rivals Oakland.
