Retired American soccer star Landon Donovan led a crowd in Vancouer in an “I believe that we will win” chant before the U.S. women’s national team was set to face Japan in the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday night.

Donovan’s pro career spanned from 1999 to 2012, and he played with the U.S. men’s national team from 2000 to 2014. He’s also been a staunch supporter of U.S. soccer since retiring, going as far as to engage with a Twitter troll during a USMNT friendly against Amsterdam last month.

Here he is, in a video shared by the USWNT Twitter account, getting a crowd amped before the Cup final. The match will begin at 7 p.m. ET; here’s how you can watch and here’s SI.com’s live blog with Liviu Bird.
