Cam Newton went to Australia to try playing Aussie rules football

Cam Newton is practicing with a football team this week, but it's not the Panthers. Newton is down in Australia, playing Aussie rules football with the AFL's Richmond Tigers.
Newton said he had never seen Aussie rules until he arrived Down Under.
“It's extremely physical,” Newton told reporters on Tuesday. “In our sport they're constantly putting things on you to protect you and in this sport they're taking things away. All they're wearing, in essence, is a tank top and a pair of boxers.”
Newton stopped by Richmond's game against the Greater Western Sydney Giants on Saturday, a 78–69 win for the Tigers. On Tuesday, he gave Aussie footy a shot at Tigers practice and played some American football with the players afterwards.

Despite his considerable athletic talents, Newton looked less than comfortable trying to pick up the new sport.

He also needs to get his arm back into shape before the NFL season starts.
