Coach K says he felt like a 13-year-old meeting Beyoncé
Coach K meets a lot of famous people, but his interaction with the likes of President Obama and LeBron James didn't prepare him for meeting Beyoncé at the 2012 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year dinner.
Krzyzewski recently spoke with Durham's WRAL about his run in with Yoncé, and the Duke head coach admitted that he lost his composure a little bit when approaching the R&B superstar.
After presenting LeBron James with his 2012 Sportsman of the Year trophy, the coach went out of his way to get some face time with Bey.
"I went up and said ‘I’m Coach K’ and she says ‘I just heard you speak for 10 minutes. I know who you are.’ So I felt like 13, and then I asked her — something I hardly ever ask anyone to do — would you please take a picture with me?”
To most people, Coach K is a five-time national champion who has coached two gold medal winning Olympic teams, but to Beyoncé he is just another nervous fan with a camera.
