Minor league team honoring Back to the Future during doubleheader

Thursday July 9th, 2015

Back to the Future introduced audiences to Marty McFly and Doc Brown 30 years ago this summer, and many minor league teams are taking the occasion to host theme nights based on the film.

The Toledo Mud Hens knew they would need a way to stand out from the crowd for their own promotion, which is how they came up with the idea for a Back to the Future doubleheader with the first game being played with a “Back” theme, with '80s style throwback jerseys and the second as the “Future” game with jersey to match.

The Toledo director of events and entertainment told MLB.com's Cut4 blog that the team will also feature 8-bit videoboard graphics and organ music during the first game, and futuristic entertainment and music for the second game of the twin bill.

After the game on Saturday, July 11, both jerseys will hit the auction block to raise money for charity.
