Damian Lillard releases new rap song ‘Soldier in the Game’

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard released his first full-length rap song, “Soldier in the Game.”

He’s got a long way to go before he catches up to Iman Shumpert, but Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard is trying to make a name for himself as a rapper. 

After years of talking about releasing a mixtape, Lillard dropped his first full-length rap song on Soundcloud on Monday, called “Soldier in the Game.”

Lillard has been dropping little 15-second verses on Instagram since he was a rookie, starting a trend called “#4BarFriday.”

“It’s something that comes easy to me,” Lillard told CSNNW in 2014. “It’s another talent that I have.”

Now he’s got some fresh lyrics to put on his next pair of shoes.
