Adam Wainwright pitched at his daughter's youth softball game

Tuesday July 21st, 2015

Adam Wainwright returned to the mound way ahead of schedule on Monday night, although it was pretty far from a major-league setting.

The pitching machine failed at his daughter’s eight and under softball, so the three-time All-Star jumped on the mound, despite a torn Achilles ankle, and threw a few innings.

Once the news hit the internet, Wainwright hopped on Twitter to let the doubters know that he did indeed beat the predictions of those who said his injury would keep him from pitching again this year.
