The Dodgers celebrated ‘Clippers Night’ on Tuesday, and the team brought out recently acquired free agent Paul Pierce to do the honor of throwing the first pitch.

Of course, many Los Angeles citizens recall Pierce from his time with the Lakers' hated rivals, the Celtics, and those memories, combined with a not so impressive first pitch, led to some boos to start the game.

The Dodgers’ Twitter account came up with a clever way to cover for Pierce skipping his ceremonial toss into the catcher, calling the throw a “bounce pass.”
