Of course, many Los Angeles citizens recall Pierce from his time with the Lakers' hated rivals, the Celtics, and those memories, combined with a not so impressive first pitch, led to some boos to start the game.

The Dodgers’ Twitter account came up with a clever way to cover for Pierce skipping his ceremonial toss into the catcher, calling the throw a “bounce pass.”
