Boston's once hopeful Olympic bid fell apart on Monday when mayor Marty Walsh listened to his constituents' wishes and refused to sign a taxpayer guarantee to fund the games.

The refusal led to the IOC claiming Boston failed to deliver on promises it made when first proposing a bid for the games.

Late night host and New England native Seth Meyers sat down on Thursday night to explain why the bid was destined to fail, including highway lanes dedicated to dignitaries, and the guarantee of going far over budget.
