Mike Trout’s dream vacation is an upstate New York blizzard

Mike Trout’s love of meteorology is one of the many things that has endeared the reigning MVP to baseball fan’s everywhere, and Yahoo’s Jeff Passan has a new feature that dives into Trout’s love of weather forecasts.

The story tells how Trout’s love of weather was born of a desire to miss school with snow days, and his friendship with The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore.But the finest nugget is the outfielder’s crazy idea of a dream vacation.

“A sick vacation for me,” Trout said, “would be to go to upstate New York when a big snowstorm hits.”

Trout may get a chance to turn his passion into a dream job soon, as The Weather Channel has offered him a shot as a guest correspondent should any big storms hit the Northeast during the off-season, while he is living in his hometown of Millville, N.J.
