Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. video chats with young fan

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. video chatted with a young fan in the hospital.

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is known for his ability to surprise on the football field, seemingly inventing new ways to catch passes during his rookie season.

As it turns out, Beckham is as eager to surprise off the field as well.

As some Miami Dolphins players visited a young fan at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry found out one of the children visiting a friend was from New York City. Landry, who played at LSU with Beckham, decided to give his old teammate a call. Beckham, reportsMiami Herald's Armando Salguero, was more than willing to engage with the young fan—he video chatted with him.

Meanwhile, Landry, Lamar Miller and Olivier Vernon helped Peyton McCuaghey celebrate his 10th birthday.

Landry and Beckham share more than an alma mater—they both led their team in receptions as rookies.

Salguero has more details from the visit over at his blog
