Kansas State fans are standing up for Wildcats band director Dr. Frank Tracz.

Tracz's marching band made waves Saturday when a halftime performance featured a formation that went viral on the Internet for all the wrong reasons. 

The formation was supposed to look like this:

Instead, the formation looked like this:

As a result, Kansas State self-imposed a $5,000 fine it will pay the Big 12. But Wildcats fans were dismayed to see Dr. Tracz's legacy tarnished by the unfortunate formation.

A GoFundMe campaign was started to raise back the $5,000 for the band's scholarship fund. In just one day, fans of the school have raised over $10,000 to donate to the school.
