Michael Bennett wants Seahawks’ owner to pay Kam Chancellor

Seahawks’ Michael Bennett calls out owner Paul Allen to pay Kam Chancellor

Lost in the illegal batting controversy in the Seahawks’ 13–10 win over the Lions on Monday Night Football, which saw Seattle survive at home after Kam Chancellor knocked the ball out of Calvin Johnson’s hands just shy of the goal line, was defensive lineman Michael Bennett calling out Seahawks owner Paul Allen on national television to pay Chancellor more money.

In Chancellor’s postgame interview, he was interrupted by Bennett, who said “Pay him! Pay him! Paul Allen is the 17th-richest man in the world. Pay him!”

Chancellor had missed the first two games of the 2015 season over a contract dispute before showing up to Seahawks facilities on Sept. 23. The Seahawks held firm on the structure of his contract, and his missed time cost him roughly $2 million.

Allen is No. 26 on Forbes’ 400 for 2015 with an estimated net worth of $17.9 billion.
