With the NBA season less than a week away, teams have begun releasing media guides, thick tomes filled with information on each player and staff member as well as the history of the team.

While the inside of the Lakers’ 2015–16 guide is all-inclusive, the cover is an ode to one man alone: five-time NBA champion and life-long Los Angeles shooting guard Kobe Bean Bryant.

• Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis had cornrows

The cover has 20 pictures of the Black Mamba, who is in the final year of his contract with the Lakers, and has been rumored to be considering retirement after the season, although nothing has been confirmed.

If you look closely, there is one other player the Lakers have deemed worthy of appearing with their franchise superstar, and that, of course, is Michael Jordan.
