Redskins find $15 on the field in team huddle

The Redskins had a wonderful Sunday, not only posting their biggest win of the season with a 47-14 defeat of the Saints, but also scooping up an extra $15 in the process.

In what has to be one of the oddest on-field occurrences of the season, the team was huddling up when running back Matt Jones and wide receiver Pierre Garcon found some cold hard cash in the middle of the gridiron.

• Panthers DE Charles Johnson had to buy his own ticket to see team play

The Washington Post reports the veteran Garcon let the rookie Jones have the extra cash, after taking a $5 “finders fee,” but the two never could quite figure out where the windfall could have come from.

“I don’t know,” Jones said. “It was probably the ref or somebody that fell out of their sock. I’ve never even seen money on a field. I don’t know who had it. We were laughing so hard. It was funny. We were coming to the sidelines and everybody was wondering, ‘Where you get $15 from, Pierre?’ It was just sitting there rolled up.”
